SECTION 1 — The ORIGIN
Some things are built in boardrooms. This wasn't one of them.
CrabStar was built from a friendship that goes back almost thirty years, two careers spent doing some of the hardest work either of us has ever done, and a shared belief that if you're going to do something, you do it right, or you don't do it at all.
We're Andrew Nicholls and Thomas Phillips.
We've known each other since we were kids. Grew up together, drifted apart the way people do, then always found our way back. That's the kind of friendship where you can go months without talking and pick up exactly where you left off. No explanation needed.
Before either of us thought seriously about crypto, we worked with our hands. Construction, building commercial fishing gear, and eventually, out on the ocean.
Commercial crab fishing on the BC coast is not a romanticized life. It is genuinely, relentlessly hard.
We fished the Hecate Strait, the stretch of water between Haida Gwaii and the BC mainland, one of the roughest patches of ocean on the Pacific coast. The weather doesn't negotiate. The schedule doesn't either.
Long hours on minimal sleep, hauling gear through whatever the ocean decided to throw at us that day. Calm glassy mornings, waves crashing over the stern, rotten squid bait flying into your face when a trap broke the surface.
We burned through crew constantly because most people couldn't take it.
But we could. And we did.
There's a level of trust you build with someone when you've worked alongside them in conditions like that. It's not something you manufacture. You either have it or you don't.
We both eventually left the water, each for our own reasons, and moved into different chapters.
Andrew redirected into digital marketing, sales, and business development. Always building, always learning from the mistakes.
Thomas put in the same kind of work in a different arena. Grinding through crypto, trading, investing, absorbing losses, adjusting, and eventually building real fluency in the Solana ecosystem. Not a hobby. A grind.
The same standard, different water.
The ocean stayed with both of us long after we left it. Not as nostalgia, but as something more like responsibility.
When you've spent real time out there, watching the water, understanding what that ecosystem actually is, it becomes difficult to be indifferent to what's happening to it.
We're not environmentalists who read about the ocean in articles. We worked on it. We know what it gives and what it demands in return.
The idea for CrabStar started with a phone call.
Thomas mentioned he was working on a crypto project. Andrew asked questions. The more the conversation developed, the clearer it became. Especially the part about directing a portion of every transaction toward ocean conservation. That detail made everything else make sense.
We'd both been around the crypto space enough to see what most of it looked like. Projects launching with nothing behind them. Communities built on short-term speculation. Money is moving fast with no real destination.
This felt different. It felt like something we could actually stand behind.
There was also the cartoon, stories written on the boat, based on the crew and the characters we'd met out there. Dark humor told in hyperbole, the way only people who've actually lived it can. It found its place in CrabStar not as decoration, but as part of how this project tells its story and builds its community.
We don't claim to have every answer, but we have a standard that doesn't break. We know what it takes to build something real. We've both done it, with our hands and on our own time. This project gets the same standard.
We also know we're entering a space with a trust problem. Most projects hide behind anonymous handles and disappear when things get hard. That was never an option for us. We put our names on this because we believe in it and because we think the community deserves to know exactly who they're building with.
The meme coin space has a reputation. We're not here to argue about it. We're here to be the exception, to show that a community built around a real idea, run by people with real values, can do something that actually matters. That's what a Purpose Coin is. Not just a token with a mission statement, but a project built from the ground up with on-chain accountability, verified impact, and a real reason to exist beyond the price chart.
The ocean doesn't have time for projects that don't follow through, and neither does a space that's been burned too many times by ones that didn't.
The ocean gave both of us more than we gave it. This is how we start giving something back.
Space Born. Ocean Roots.
SECTION 2 — THE PROBLEM & THE ANSWER
Meme coins get launched every day. Most of them will be gone by tomorrow.
This didn't happen by accident. It's a repeating pattern.
Anonymous teams, no utility, no mission, and no intention of following through on anything they promised. The money moves fast, the founders disappear faster, and the people left holding the bag are the ones who believed the pitch.
The crypto space has earned its reputation. When you mention meme coins in a room full of normal people, they roll their eyes. The first thing they think of is a scam and honestly, they're not wrong to go there. Rug pulls. Pump and dumps. Projects built on nothing but lies. Launched before anyone has thought past the ticker symbol.
The problem isn't crypto. The problem is a lack of integrity. Integrity is binary. You either have it or you don't. It means doing what you said you would do, long after the mood you said it in has left you.
CrabStar is the answer to that problem. Not through better marketing or a louder community but through structure.
We came up with a category for it: the Purpose Coin. A project that keeps the energy and culture of the meme coin world while replacing the hollow mechanics with on-chain accountability, a verified conservation mission, and a real reason to exist beyond the next price pump.
The difference isn't branding. It's what's underneath.
Here is exactly what's underneath.
The Contract
CrabStar is built on Solana's Token-2022 standard. Three authorities govern what the team can and cannot do after launch.
Mint authority — renounced before launch. The total supply is fixed at 1,000,000,000 $CRAB. New tokens cannot be created. Ever.
Freeze authority — renounced before launch. We cannot freeze any holder's wallet. Your tokens are yours.
Transfer fee authority — retained in a 2-of-3 multi-sig with a binding public policy. This is the only authority we kept, and we kept it specifically to benefit holders. It allows us to reduce or eliminate fees during high-volume events, major milestones, or exchange listings, while the multi-sig ensures that same authority can never be used to raise fees against you. The policy is permanent and on-chain:
- The fee can only ever be lowered, never raised
- The fee will never exceed 1.5% buy / 1.5% sell
- Any change requires 7 days public notice
- All fee authority transactions are visible on-chain
If we ever violate that policy, the blockchain shows it. There is nowhere to hide.
The Multi-Sig
Every significant wallet in the CrabStar ecosystem is controlled through Squads Protocol. This is the gold standard for multi-sig treasury management on Solana. The structure requires 2-of-3 signatures before any funds can move.
Signer 1: Thomas Phillips (co-founder & technical lead)
Signer 2: Andrew Nicholls (co-founder & project lead)
Signer 3: Dedicated hardware wallet. A physically separate Ledger device stored in a secure location, independent of both founders' primary systems
Day-to-day this means both founders must sign off on every fund movement. No single primary wallet can act alone. The third key is a dedicated Ledger hardware wallet stored in a secure physical location, independent of both founders' primary systems. Every transaction across every wallet is visible on-chain the moment it happens.
The charity wallet, team wallet, marketing wallet, development wallet, and transfer fee authority all operate under this structure.
The Audit
The smart contract goes through a full independent security audit before a single token trades publicly. We will not launch with an audit in progress. The complete published report will be linked on every platform we operate before launch day.
The Standard
None of this is required. We chose every one of these commitments because we believe in doing things right or not doing them at all. The proof isn't in what we're saying. It's in what's already locked into the code.
SECTION 3 — TOKENOMICS & THE ENGINE
CrabStar is built on a simple premise. Every number has a purpose and every purpose is public.
There is nothing in this structure that exists to benefit the team at the community's expense. Here is exactly how it works.
Total Supply
1,000,000,000 $CRAB. Fixed permanently. Mint authority has been renounced. No additional tokens can ever be created.
The Tax
Every buy and every sell carries a 1.5% tax, split across three streams:
| Rate | Stream | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| 0.75% | Conservation charity wallet | Funding real ocean protection |
| 0.65% | Reflections pool | Distributed back to holders |
| 0.10% | Liquidity pool | Supporting price stability |
Every transaction moves the mission forward. It's the mechanism, not a marketing line.
Token Allocation
| Allocation | % | Tokens |
|---|---|---|
| Liquidity Pool | 40% | 400,000,000 $CRAB |
| Marketing & Partnerships | 15% | 150,000,000 $CRAB |
| Community Rewards | 15% | 150,000,000 $CRAB |
| Development | 10% | 100,000,000 $CRAB |
| Team | 15% | 150,000,000 $CRAB |
| Charity | 5% | 50,000,000 $CRAB |
Liquidity Pool — 40% — 400,000,000 $CRAB
The foundation of the market. Paired with SOL at launch on Raydium and locked immediately via Streamflow for a minimum of two years. This cannot be touched, moved, or pulled. The lock address is public and verifiable on-chain from day one.
The two-year lock is a floor, not a finish line. When that period ends, the community will have a voice in what happens next through the governance model introduced in Phase 3. One option on the table is a permanent LP burn. Locking liquidity forever removes the question entirely. We deliberately kept that decision open rather than making it unilaterally, because it belongs to the community that built this with us.
Whatever direction is chosen, it will be decided transparently, announced in advance, and executed on-chain where everyone can see it.
Marketing & Partnerships — 15% — 150,000,000 $CRAB
Funds influencer campaigns, paid advertising, exchange listings, and partnership development. Controlled under Squads multi-sig with a quarterly soft cap of 15,000,000 $CRAB. Every spend is reported publicly each month with transaction hashes.
Community Rewards — 15% — 150,000,000 $CRAB
Airdrops, giveaways, raids, and community incentives. Operationally managed with a quarterly soft cap of 15,000,000 $CRAB. Monthly disclosure of every distribution with transaction hashes.
Development — 10% — 100,000,000 $CRAB
Ecosystem expansion, technical maintenance, and platform development. Controlled under Squads multi-sig with a quarterly soft cap of 10,000,000 $CRAB. Monthly disclosure of every allocation recipient and the purpose.
Team — 15% — 150,000,000 $CRAB
Allocated as follows: 50,000,000 $CRAB to Thomas Phillips, 50,000,000 $CRAB to Andrew Nicholls, and 50,000,000 $CRAB reserved for future team members.
All allocations follow the same vesting schedule with no exceptions — enforced on-chain via Streamflow:
| Milestone | Tokens Unlocked | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Month 12 | 50,000,000 $CRAB unlocks | (5% - 1/3) |
| Month 18 | 50,000,000 $CRAB unlocks | (5% - 2/3) |
| Month 24 | 50,000,000 $CRAB unlocks | (5% - 3/3) |
No team tokens are accessible before month 12.
The vesting contract is public and verifiable on-chain from day one. We built this structure to prove we are here for the long term. Not to cash out on the community that built this with us.
When team tokens unlock, the same standard applies. Any sale of team-held $CRAB will be announced publicly no less than 72 hours in advance, executed in measured amounts, and disclosed with full transaction detail. We will not dump. The community built this with us. We have no interest in undermining what we built together.
Charity — 5% — 50,000,000 $CRAB
The initial conservation pool. This allocation exists as a backstop, ensuring the charity wallet carries real weight from day one, regardless of early trading volume. Held in Squads multi-sig and donated on the same schedule as the transaction-funded conservation stream.
The Reflections Model
CrabStar uses a claim-based distribution system. Every transaction generates 0.65% into the reflections pool. A daily snapshot at midnight PST calculates each qualifying holder's share based on their balance.
Holders visit the CrabStar website, connect their wallet, and claim their accumulated rewards at any time on their own schedule. Gas cost is on the holder. Keeping the system sustainable at any scale.
To qualify, a wallet must hold a minimum of 1,000,000 $CRAB. This threshold exists to filter out dust wallets and keep the pool meaningful for genuine holders. Liquidity contracts, burn addresses, and all operational wallets are excluded. Only circulating holder wallets earn.
Unclaimed Rewards
Unclaimed reflections don't disappear. They stay in the Reflections Vault until the close of each 90-day quarter. At that point, the team manually calculates the unclaimed balance and sweeps it back into the liquidity pool via our Squads multi-sig.
Every sweep is posted publicly with the full transaction hash so anyone can verify it happened, when it happened, and exactly how much moved. This keeps the pool working for the community instead of sitting idle. The schedule is fixed and published in advance. We don't execute quietly.
Wallet Governance
Operational wallets run under self-imposed quarterly soft caps with mandatory public reporting.
Any cap override requires joint multi-sig approval plus 48 hours public notice across all community channels. Every movement, amount, recipient, purpose, and transaction hash, is disclosed in monthly transparency reports.
This is not a promise. It is a documented, on-chain accountability framework that the community can verify independently at any time.
SECTION 4 — THE MISSION
Nobody handed us a passion for ocean conservation out of a brochure.
We came to it the hard way. Through years of working on water that doesn't care whether you respect it or not.
The Hecate Strait will humble you fast. Waves hit the boat and things bend and break that you never thought would. The ocean is indifferent to how prepared you are or how badly you need the season to go well. It is just power. Raw, absolute, and completely unimpressed by you.
But then it could be so beautiful it stopped you cold.
Grinding through the whole night on minimal sleep, feeling like you might pass out at the rail, and then the sun would come up. You'd get a second wind and watch the sunrise while the gear kept coming.
Whales surfacing alongside the boat. Hundreds of dolphins moving together like one thing. Wolf eels, octopus, sea urchin, and scallops. A whole world operating just beneath the surface, unconcerned with everything happening above it.
I hauled crab traps for years. In my early seasons, some of those traps would come up absolutely stuffed with starfish. So full we could barely lift them to dump them out. It was just part of the job. Sometimes you'd see them every single haul.
Then one season, they were gone.
Not fewer. Gone. We didn't know why at the time. Looking back now, we know that sea star wasting disease devastated sunflower sea star populations along the BC coast around the same time. Whether that's what we witnessed or something else entirely, what we know is what we saw, and what we stopped seeing.
That's the thing about spending real time on the water. You don't need someone to tell you something is wrong. You see it in what's missing.
We're not marine biologists. We're not environmentalists who read about ocean health in weekend articles. We're two people who worked that ecosystem for years and came away with something that doesn't really leave you. A sense of responsibility for something much larger than yourself.
That's where the conservation mission comes from. Not a corporate mandate. Not a marketing strategy. Not guilt. Just two people who believe that if you've taken something from this world, you find a way to give something back.
There are thousands of meme coins. Most of them exist for one reason and disappear for the same one. We didn't want to build another digital lottery ticket. We wanted something that moves like crypto but holds like the ocean. That is the Purpose Coin. A project with the energy of the meme coin world and a real mission underneath it. Not because it was trendy. Because we actually believed in it, and because the ocean deserved better than a footnote in a white paper nobody reads twice.
The ocean gave us more than we gave it. This is how we start evening that out.
SECTION 5 — THE MECHANISM
Every project in this space will tell you they care about something. We built a system that proves it whether we say anything or not.
How It Gets Funded
Two streams feed the conservation wallet simultaneously from the moment the token launches.
The first is automatic. Every buy and every sell generates 0.75% directly into the conservation wallet. No manual steps. No team discretion. The transaction happens and the funds move, on-chain, immediate, and visible to anyone who wants to look.
The second is the 5% initial charity allocation. 50,000,000 $CRAB held in reserve from day one.
This exists as a backstop, ensuring the conservation wallet has real funding regardless of early trading volume. The mission has weight from the moment we launch, not just after we've built momentum.
How It's Controlled
The conservation wallet operates under Squads Protocol multi-sig. Every movement requires 2-of-3 signatures. No single person can touch these funds alone.
Thomas executes the conversions on a defined schedule. Andrew signs off on every movement. The cold wallet serves as the third key for a back up if anything happens to the other keys. This structure was not built because it was required. It was built because public money deserves public accountability.
When Donations Are Made
In the early phase, while the initial 5% allocation exists, conversions happen weekly. This builds a verifiable donation track record from the start. Not one large donation after months of accumulation, but a consistent, documented history of follow-through.
The first donation is a hard commitment. It will be triggered by whichever milestone is reached first: $2,500 in accumulated value or 60 days post-launch, no exceptions.
Once the initial allocation is fully converted, the model shifts to threshold-based. A minimum of $2,500 must accumulate before a conversion is executed. This keeps the reporting meaningful and limits slippage from converting small amounts.
Where The Money Goes
CrabStar donates directly to verified ocean conservation organizations. We don’t want to announce which organizations we are donating to specifically yet until we have the receipts to show.
The ocean is the reason this project exists. Every dollar that leaves this wallet goes toward protecting it. That commitment doesn't change based on market conditions, trading volume, or anything else.
How You Can Verify It
The conservation wallet address is public as soon as it goes live, before we launch. A live charity tracker will be built directly into the CrabStar website, showing the current wallet balance and complete donation history in real time. Not on our timeline. On yours.
Every conversion, every donation, and every transaction hash is posted publicly after each movement.
Monthly donation reports are published across all community channels. Each report includes conversion amounts, dates, transaction hashes, fiat value raised, fiat value donated, and confirmation of receipt from the receiving organization.
We don't ask you to trust us on this. We ask you to watch.
SECTION 6 — THE ECOSYSTEM
CrabStar is not just a token. It's a world being built around a community that actually shows up.
CrabStar Run
The game is already live. Playable in browser and as a downloadable app at crabstarcoinsol.online/game.
CrabStar Run is an endless runner built for the CrabStar community. You play as the CrabStar character, jumping over hazards and collecting coins across progressively harder levels. Works on both desktop and mobile. Anyone can play in seconds.
The game already has a solid foundation, and we have lots of ideas going forward. It has a real economy. Players earn coins and spend them in an in-game shop on power-ups and extras. A daily reward and streak system keeps players coming back. Leaderboards track all-time and weekly standings. Every score is server-verified. Guest play is fully supported, no account required. Players who create a profile get a persistent record of their stats and personal bests. Early adopters earn a permanent OG badge.
This is a fully functional game shipped before the token ever launched. That's not common in this space. CrabStar Run is a living piece of the ecosystem, and it grows as the community grows.
NFTs
The NFT collection is coming in Phase 3.
The direction is utility first. CrabStar NFTs are designed to connect directly to the game. Functioning as playable character skins and unlocking in-game content depending on which ones you hold. That gives them a reason to exist beyond sitting in a wallet. The details are still being developed, and we intend to build them out with the community.
Merch
CrabStar will have physical merch. When you believe in what you're building, you wear it. Details coming as the project grows.
The Cartoon Universe
This one started on a fishing boat.
Between hauls, during the long nights, stories got written. Characters based on the crew. The absurdity of that world. We had the opportunity to meet a lot of unique and odd people. They are just people we had to interact with or the several different people that would come work on the boat during the course of a season.
Those stories have been waiting for the right vehicle. CrabStar is that vehicle.
The animated universe is a Phase 4 build.
The creative direction comes from the same place this project does, two people who came up from the water and ended up somewhere completely unexpected. The mascot exists at the intersection of those two worlds. The universe builds from there.
It's a vision with real bones behind it. When the time comes, the cartoon won't feel like something bolted onto a crypto project. It'll feel like it was always supposed to be here. Because it was.
Note - A portion of the proceeds from our ecosystem will be shared with the ocean conservation charities we support.
SECTION 7 — THE ROADMAP & TECHNOLOGY
Why Solana
CrabStar is built on Solana for reasons that are both technical and practical.
On the technical side, Solana's Token-2022 standard is the most advanced token architecture available on the network. The Transfer Fee extension is what makes the automatic conservation tax possible. Every transaction routes 0.75% to the charity wallet at the protocol level without any manual step. No other chain offers this combination of speed, cost, and token infrastructure at the level Solana does.
On the practical side, Solana is where the meme coin ecosystem lives. The liquidity, the tooling, the community infrastructure, and the launch platforms are all here. Raydium, Squads Protocol, Streamflow. Every piece of the CrabStar technical stack is native to Solana. We didn't have to force a fit. It was the right choice from every angle.
We've also watched Solana grow. The moves the network has been making to expand its ecosystem give us confidence that we're building on a platform with long-term momentum behind it, not one we'll outgrow.
The Roadmap
CrabStar is built in four phases. Each phase builds on the last. The roadmap below reflects where we are and where we're going. As first-time project founders, some of this will evolve as we build. What won't change is the standard we hold ourselves to in every phase.
Launch is set for November 1, 2026, the day $CRAB goes live on Solana. The Phase 1 work comes first: the security audit, the multi-sig, and the liquidity lock are all completed before that date.

What you can count on is that every change will be communicated transparently and every phase will be held to the same standard as the one before it.
SECTION 8 — THE TEAM & LEGAL
The Team
CrabStar was founded by two people who put their names on this project because they believe in it.
The roles below show where each of us takes the lead. In practice, this is a two-person project, and we build all of it together the same way we worked the deck. The titles just make it clear who takes the lead on what.
Thomas Phillips — Co-Founder & Technical Lead
Thomas drives CrabStar's narrative and technical foundation, like the smart-contract architecture, wallet infrastructure, multi-sig security, and the integration of Solana's Token-2022 standard. His focus is on real token utility and sustainable reflection mechanics, making sure the project's backend can support a lasting, crypto-native community rather than a short cycle.
Before the blockchain, Thomas spent over a decade in the construction industry, building custom homes and managing complex residential projects. He attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) for Carpentry, where he developed the hands-on skills, discipline, and problem-solving mindset that would later shape his approach to both business and technology.
Thomas also worked the water. He spent years as a commercial crab fisherman on the BC coast, running gear through the Hecate Strait, the stretch between Haida Gwaii and the mainland, one of the roughest patches of ocean on the Pacific, alongside his co-founder and friend of nearly thirty years.
When he came off the water, he brought the same standard to a different arena, grinding through crypto, trading and investing, absorbing the losses, and building real fluency in the Solana ecosystem. What kept him there was a conviction that DeFi could be built around purpose instead of hype, which is exactly what he's now building into CrabStar.
CrabStar is the synthesis of that path. Construction-grade thinking applied to digital systems. Offshore discipline applied to on-chain infrastructure. A project built to hold pressure technically, culturally, and over time.
@darealrektrushAndrew Nicholls — Co-Founder & Project Lead
Andrew leads CrabStar's brand, copy, website, game development, and strategic direction. The work is taking what this project actually is and putting it in front of people who've never heard of it and holding the whole thing to one standard.
Before any of that, he spent seven years commercial crab fishing on the Hecate Strait off the BC coast, four of them as deck boss, responsible for the deck and the crew in one of the roughest stretches of water on the Pacific. There's no abstraction out there, only weather, pressure, and consequence.
He watched parts of that ecosystem change in real time. Traps that came up stuffed with starfish in his early seasons came up empty a few years later. You don't need a study to tell you something's wrong when you can see what's gone missing.
After leaving the water, he moved into digital marketing, sales, and business development, building expertise in audience acquisition, positioning, and growth strategy, and how systems are built, the skill set he now brings to the brand and community, translating field discipline into digital execution.
For Andrew, CrabStar is a way to put that experience behind something that matters. The energy of a meme coin paired with a real commitment to ocean conservation, sent back to the water that shaped both founders. A purpose.
@asoberspartanThe conservation mission in this project isn't something we both came to through research. It's something we lived. We also believe in giving back and being good stewards of this planet we call earth and we felt like this mission was a good way to do it.
Both of us are public-facing and reachable through the official CrabStar community channels. This project has no anonymous team. No hidden wallets. No founders who disappear when things get hard.
The best way to contact us will be through email.
